That's what Julia said after I put on this costume. To give you a hint, my friend Felicia, who currently lives in Honolulu, sent it to her a couple of weeks ago and it was finally warm enough on a Saturday to try it on. (Of course Aaron had to get in on the picture taking!)
I tied the skirt on first, then slipped the string of coconuts over her head and adjusted them. The string of shells is a bit long, but also too short to double up. Lastly I pinned the flower in her hair. (Yes, all this came in the package.) I told her to go show Daddy, who was standing in the doorway, and she turned around and said, "I'm a jungle!" You just can't make this stuff up! So thanks again, Felicia, for sending us this special moment.

I got the idea for this from a Current catalog (a mail-order gift, stationery and wrapping paper company based in Colorado Springs). There was a doormat with a drawing of the Earth and the words, "Welcome to our place in the world" with latitude and longitude in degrees and minutes (mine also includes seconds, but it's cut out so no crazy person can stalk me). So here's my rendition.
The picture is from NASA's website. I found another website (earthtools.org) using a Google search to help me find latitude and longitude for my house. I included seconds in my numbers because I discovered that that makes a big difference. I even had to use half seconds because the whole second above and below marked my neighbors' homes and the street behind my house. (Yes, perfectionist at work here.)

With this title page done, my 2007 album is officially FINISHED! Now on to 2008.......using Creative Memories new TRUE 12x12 album pages which means no more trimming! (No, I'm not excited about that!)
Last weekend was World's Largest Crop, an annual event sponsored by local Creative Memories consultants. 1500 people under one roof making scrapbook pages. I caught up with a couple of old friends and had a great time while I made nine scrapbook pages (that's a lot for me in one day). It's also a chance to take a break from the daily routine and let Daddy take care of the kids (which he did well: he took them kite flying at the park). I posted five pages; the other four aren't anything special in my opinion.
These two I started at my regular Friday night crop, but finished at the big crop. Some of the pictures already have been posted on my blog under the title "Snowman Hill"; I liked the sound of that so I used it for the album pages, too.
The light blue snow paper and the snowman are from a kit I bought years ago and recently unearthed while I was changing over to a new system of paper storage. I thought it would look great with the snowman pictures. The title is cut from cardstock after tracing with an alphabet template. The journal box I made yesterday with my stamps.

This is the second kit I bought years ago, etc. I had to resize the fireplace because the original took up most of the page, leaving no room for pictures (and even I didn't leave much). It's not my style to have the embellishments outshine the pictures, but once in a while it's OK.

This is the last page of my 2007 album. (All my friends--OK, all but Jeanne-- are so jealous that I'm practically caught up!) The four pages I skipped use similar paper and are more Christmas pictures.

Last Friday my parents, invited the kids and me to the Denver Auto Show. Last year they had gone by themselves, I think because my dad was looking to replace his 19-year-old Mazda 323. The result? He got a brand-new red Mazda Miata for his 65th birthday the following week and Aaron got a stack of car brochures which he just devoured (an Asperger's thing--his mom really likes cars, too).
At first, the kids were excited because we were going to ride in Grandma and Papa's van (a Honda Odyssey). Once Aaron stepped inside the showcase floor, all I heard was a loud "Wowwwww!" Grandma said she wanted to start with the new Honda Odyssey, and so our adventure began!
After visiting the Hondas, the Mini Coopers caught Aaron's eye. Here he is in a red convertible one.
Aaron's favorite: the Mazdaspeed 3. He spent more time in this car than any other, and after we went on to other cars, he kept asking to go back to the Mazdas!
As soon as I get the camera to focus on Julia, she's off on another adventure. She's in the red Mazda here, too, in the backseat.
I almost got her face. Here's Julia checking out a new Toyota Sienna (another of Grandma's favorites).
Now we get to the good car: a white Porsche!

Julia had fun just getting in and out! She can't manage the pull-up door handles on our Subaru, but the pull-out handles on most of the new cars she mastered quickly.
Those are some of the photos that turned out. My camera had a hard time focusing on things, perhaps because of all the glare spots on the cars, I don't know. So pictures of other Mini Coopers, Hondas, Subarus, Chryslers and Mazdas were just blurs.
On the other hand, the kids each got a small red basketball (courtesy of State Farm) and a small Hummer which, after one pulls it backwards a bit, zooms forward on its own. Aaron also got a new stack of car brochures, which he wants us to read to him for his bedtime story! He also keeps asking to go back to the car show, so I have to explain that we can go again next year because now it's moved on to another city so that other little boys can have fun driving them.
